Maureen and myself were friends when we were just 16 / 17 years old, new keen typists in the pool in the <prudential at Holborn London.
All ready to show the world how fast we could type and do shorthand (pitmans). We got on well and often lunched together. When I left to get married we lost contact for a bit and then recontacted again via another friend who had also worked at the 'Pru' (Lorna in S.A.). We caught up on our lives and gave each other family titbits. Maureen was a lovley lady. I was very sad to hear that she lost her battle with cancer. I tried to encourage her, because I had cancer myself a few years ago and my battle succeeded unfortunately it is not the same with everyone.
I'm sure she will be sadly missed by everyone. My heartfelt sympathy to John, Maureen's sons, John's sons and daughter-in-laws.
