To all families who have donated to Maureen’s fund to benefit the Priory Church of St. Laurence in Blackmore and the Blackmore Women’s Institute.
On behalf of the Butler and Warner families we would like to sincerely thank you for your notes regarding the death of Maureen. She battled courageously against a terrible illness in a dignified and purposeful way. Just the way we would expect her to have been.
Maureen was laid to rest on Wednesday October 14th at the Priory Church of St. Laurence in Blackmore, Essex. There was a short service with several readings and her eulogy. After the service her ashes were scattered in the church’s outdoor courtyard with a champagne toast to her afterwards. Just as she would have wanted!
Both the Priory Church of St. Laurence in Blackmore and the Blackmore Women’s Institute were extremely close to Maureen’s heart. Thank you so much for your generous donation.
If we ever get back to normal, we plan to celebrate Maureen’s life with a memorial service that all her friends and family can attend on what would have been her 84th birthday on June 30, 2021. More details will follow.

Maureen, you were a huge part of our lives and we will miss you in ways we probably can't even appreciate yet. Thank you for being there for us all and particularly for being the companion our Dad needed.
